When a patient is going to require anesthesia for a procedure it is important that some steps be taken in preparation.
Do not eat or drink anything for 8 hours prior to your procedure.
Do not smoke for 12 hours prior to your procedure.
You must arrange for transportation to and from the procedure. You must be accompanied by someone.
Do not wear any jewelry, dentures, or contact lenses the day of your procedure.
Discuss any medications your normally take when you make your surgical appointment, and follow your doctor’s instructions the day of your procedure.
